You are cordially invited to join your Notre Dame High School family as we celebrate the athletes, coaches, and teams whose achievements helped shape the rich tradition of Notre Dame Athletics.  We would love to see our Green Knight community come together to honor these deserving inductees and celebrate what makes ND Athletics so epic and historic! This year’s induction dinner and ceremony will take place at Anthony’s Ocean View on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

A cocktail hour will begin at 6 pm followed by a buffet dinner and the induction ceremony. Tickets are $125.00 per person. We hope to see you at the 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame!

A Note from Ralph about drones:

I have asked the Shoreline people if they have any rules concerning the use of drones during their games. I was told teams are allowed to use drones if they are at or behind the end lines of each endzone. I informed them that we are not going to be looking for any violations of their drone rule. That is nor in our jurisdiction. I also informed them, that under no conditions, these drones should be used to evaluate, critique or assess the performance of our officials on the fields. Also, we will not look at any videos or still pictures of our officials’ performances on the field. In essence they can use their drones but don’t expect us to respond to them in any manner. While officiating just ignore their drones. If any of you feel uncomfortable doing a game that has drones, let me know and I will do the best I can to find out which teams use them and which do not.

The Week 0 review tape for NCAA came out. Again, the rules are different in some respects, but the philosophies discussed are important and transferrable. Take a look at these, and adapt what can be adapted.

News of the Week 8-13-2026

At last night’s clinic we had a discussion about the rules differences between NHIS and NCAA. A document should be forthcoming soon as our current rules differences is a few years old.

From the Better Officiating Committee: Free Kick Mechanics

You should have gotten an email from The NFHS Digital Team with instructions on how to access the rules book on your phone or mobile device. It is actually pretty decent. I think they have made some improvements.

Event Reminders

Just a reminder that there will be no clinic this Wednesday evening, 8/5, because we will be having our outing at the Branford IA club at 6:00.

However, you are invited and encouraged to attend the State Clinic that our Board will be hosting this upcoming Saturday the 8th beginning at 9 am. It is a rain or shine event that will be held inside of the East Haven High School.

We will resume our on field clinics next Weds the 12th at 6:00 on the field at EHHS. Jim Brennan will lead a session that will review this season’s NCAA rules changes, some of the differences to keep in mind between the NCAA and Federation rule books and seven man field mechanics. Anyone planning on working Choate, Cheshire Academy, and Hamden Hall varsity games should attend this session.

At the same clinic there will a separate session for those 2-5 year officials who attended our Developmental group session a few weeks ago and the subsequent sessions on the 21st and 29th. We will continue our review of five man mechanics and the various running and passing play fouls that wings, Us and BJs must be able to competently identify, call, and report at the youth and high school level.
